The Nespresso CitiZ espresso machine avoids three potential problems that plague some other brands of espresso machine – tamping espresso grounds, using a milk frother wand, and cleaning up the mess afterward The Nespresso CitiZ does away with all three issues.
Instead, the Nespresso CitiZ uses coffee capsules, and a brilliantly designed device known as an “Aeroccino”. The machine perforates the hermetically sealed coffee capsule and optimally filters the coffee while its 19 bar high pressure pump gives full body and strength to the espresso with a thick golden crema on top. The Aeroccino makes perfectly frothed milk to be added to the espresso without a wand.

It IS the REAL THING. The capsules contain nothing more than espresso coffee grounds. The machine is simply an automated and miniaturized “real” espresso rig. And the results speak for themselves:
– full bodied crema like you get from the best barista
– speedy and HOT cups of espresso
– the espresso produced is crisp and clear, full bodied, and smooth
– my Sicilian wife and all her relatives (numerous, and mostly named “Maria” “Antonina” and “Dominic”) all fully approve of the espresso that comes out. Comparing is to “Nonna’s” would be sacrilege, but although those words have not been spoken yet, I am convinced the thought has crossed a couple minds.

This machine is brilliant. The best espresso or cappuccino I’ve ever tasted, and all in less than 2 minutes, start to finish. The milk frother is a miracle–quick, perfect, instant cleanup. My wife and I have been wired out of our heads since it arrived. We can’t stop drinking the stuff.

The quality of the taste of Nespresso brand coffee is far superior than the local well-known coffee shops that I would frequent after returning home from vacation. I could not find a substitute for the Nespresso brand and that is why we bought the Nespresso machine. I don’t mind at all that the pods are proprietary (can only buy from Nespresso) because that is the coffee/espresso that won me over and to be honest, I have not found any other brands that tastes as good as Nespresso.

To operate the machine (now pay attention, this is tough stuff) 1. fill up the water reservoir, 2.turn on machine, 3. wait for lights to go from blinking to solid, 4. stick in the capsule and close hatch, 5. push espresso button. VOILA! Out comes the perfect little espresso. I purchased the machine with the milk frother and I’ve used it a few times (we usually make iced lattes) and it was just as simple to use and made a big froth in seconds.
